Types of validators

The validator has a built-in proximity card reader for contactless cards, enabling journey registration and collection of fares. There will be two types of ticket validators in each bus:

Mechanical keyboard

The keyboard consists of 3 buttons that perform specific functions:

  • N - validating a normal ticket from the electronic purse and validating a normal fare for the transport of other people or the transport of luggage, animals, etc.
  • U - deleting a reduced ticket from the electronic wallet and deleting the reduced fare for other people who are entitled to the discount
  • i - a single press starts the card status checking mode (the e-card should be placed on the reader within 5 seconds of pressing the key and held for as long as you want the message to be displayed); pressing twice and then inserting the e-card into the top-up validator pocket activates the online top-up funds on the card (transferring the ticket to a floppy disk)

Display

In standby mode, it displays the current time, date and name of the stop, and is also used to display messages:

  • about the amount of the fee charged and the current account balance in the case of trip registration
  • information about the status of the operation
  • message about insufficient funds to register the trip (message: "no points")
  • information about the validator lock activated by the driver or controller.

All messages on the validator display are displayed as long as the electronic diskette is held against its reader.

Sound and light signals

In order to confirm the correct registration of the trip by the validator, the lamp is illuminated and a single sound signal appears. A red light along with a triple sound signal and a message on the display indicate situations that prevent the registration of a journey, e.g. lack of funds in the electronic wallet account or lack of valid season tickets, blocking of the e-ticket disk (e.g. expiration of the e-card expiration date, insertion of e-ticket -cards on the 'blacklist'), etc. In these situations, the passenger is obliged to purchase a paper ticket from the driver.

If the validity period for concessionary travel authorizations expires, the ticket validator will collect the fare as for a 'normal' journey without any light or sound signals.
